Grab your crew and head out in your very own convertible, street legal super styling, fun buggy! At Big Island Buggy YOU choose where and what you want to see. Our buggies travel along at highway speeds, so you and your crew can see more beaches, towns and our beautiful island! Go to Volcano National Park, Akaka Waterfalls, Waimea and Hilo.
We offer one 2 seat and three 4 seat VW dune buggies and we deliver the fun to you! Whether it’s your house or condo in Waikoloa, hotel in Kona, Kona Pier for cruise ships or KOA Airport, we deliver! Our buggies come with a soft top that you can remove with ease and give yourself a 360 degree view and it is AMAZING!
For your convenience, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella and soft cooler are provided by request at no additional charge. We have also equipped them with USB ports to charge your phones. At Big Island Buggy, we believe you will have the most fun you have ever had in a car rental!

Our cars are not 4x4s, no off road. Paved only. Please read our FAQ page for restrictions.
Free delivery and pickup in Kona town area only. Free deliveries are not available for cruise ship passengers. Cruise ship deliveries are to King Kamehameha Marriott only ($40). Areas North of Kona town, KOA Airport, Westin Hapuna, Waikoloa Hilton, Four Seasons, etc. $75 Total for both delivery and pickup. (No deliveries North on cruise ship days.)
GREEN HONU
(4 seat buggy AUTOMATIC) Fully Automatic Transmission. Same as TIKI except automatic. Full size seats with open storage area behind rear seats. Regular car shoulder seat belts. Child seat friendly. No Doors. Not recommended for individuals with difficulty lifting leg 30″ over side of buggy to be seated.
RED TIKI
(4 seat buggy) STICK SHIFT, Standard Transmission. Full size seats with open storage area behind rear seats. Regular car shoulder seat belts. Child seat friendly. No Doors. Not recommended for individuals with difficulty lifting leg 30″ over side of buggy to be seated.
RED LAVA

BLUE MAKO
(4 seat buggy) STICK SHIFT, Standard Transmission. SMALLER REAR BENCH SEAT. Lap belts. Not recommended for larger adults or child seats.Soft top covers front driver and passenger only. No Doors. Not recommended for individuals with difficulty lifting leg 30″ over side of buggy to be seated.
YELLOW TANG
(2 seat buggy) STICK SHIFT, Standard Transmission. Extra storage behind seats for beach gear and luggage. No Doors. Not recommended for individuals with difficulty lifting leg 30″ over side of buggy to be seated.

When you rent from Big Island Buggy, you get to choose what you want to see.
Would you like to spend the morning with the wind blowing through your hair and the smell of coffee enticing your senses. Kona is home to many coffee farms that you can tour, shop and drink 100% pure Kona coffee!
Kona is also home to many farmers markets. Buy local fruit, arts and crafts or taste some local treats.
Head down to Ali'i Drive and do some shopping and sightseeing. Have lunch and take in all the sites that Kona has to offer.​
I LOVE YOUR CAR!
You can always rent a Jeep, Mustang or Camaro if you want less attention. Or rent from BIG ISLAND BUGGY to hear " I LOVE YOUR CAR! "

Our buggies cruise at highway speeds so you and your crew can spend more time at the beach!
On the Big Island of Hawaii we offer some of the most beautiful beaches. Drive up to the Gold Coast and spend the day at Anaeho'omalu Beach. (we refer it as "A" beach) Mauna Kea Beach or beautiful Kua Bay. Head south to Kahalu'u or Pu'uhonua o Honaunau (City of Refuge) The possibilities and activities are endless and so are the beaches!​​​
Some romance?
We offer a four hour rental so you and your partner can head out to the perfect beach and watch the sunset!
Grab a quick "to go" meal and head out to the Pines Beach for a romantic picnic while watching the sunset. This is the perfect setting to watch the surfers catching a wave and the sun setting on the horizon!
